Description
The project included a new exhibition and function space plus offices for the Rutland Agricultural Society an attached clubhouse and changing rooms for Oakham Rugby Club together with a detached pavilion of separate changing facilities for Royce Rangers Amateur Football Club.
The principle aim of the project was to allow the RAS to re-establish The Rutland Show at a location within easy reach of Oakham, whilst also providing new sporting facilities for the area.
The building takes its inspiration from the form and proportions of a grain barn; a lofty, double-height central space with a floor inserted in the gable end.
Two stage traditional form of contract.
