Description
Building a Martian House was a public art project to create a real prototype of a Martian House.
The project was led and conceived by artists Ella Good and Nicki Kent, in collaboration with Hugh Broughton Architects and Pearce+. It was presented in partnership with M Shed, and funded by The Edward Marshall Trust.
The Martian House was set over two levels - the upper level was made from a gold inflatable formwork, the lower level was designed to be fully below ground to maximise protection.
Winner of the Pro Tem Award at the Civic Trust Awards 2023.
